President’s Report

 

There is a bill in the Kentucky Senate to allow two paid members of the department to serve on the Fire District Board. The bill is SB 195

The IRS tax exempt process is almost complete.

 

IAFF district 1 will sponsor a motorcycle ride for kids on June 26, 2004

 

The website is up and working. All local members now have e-mail with exception of the fire department officers which have it through the district.

Unfinished Business

 

The IRS has required us to pay an additional $350.00 for our tax-exempt status because our gross receipts exceeded $10,000.00; this is due to our fund-raising in the past which was not put in a separate account. Motion made to spend $300.00 additional for our tax-exempt status by Mark Albrink 2nd by Craig Smith, Motion carried

2nd and final reading of the proposed by-law change concerning the e-board members allotted $100.00 per month to spend for union business without a motion. By-law change was voted on and passed anonymously

 

The new rim for the basketball goal at station 2 will been purchased

 

2004 IAFF Convention

Austin Kresser was nominated as a delegate by Jason Ellis 2nd by Steve Puglisi

Adam Peddicord was nominated as an alternate by Mark Albrink 2nd by Rob Braun

Good and Welfare

 

Tim Lawson has injured his knee, and will find out if he needs surgery on Wednesday March 17, 2004. We wish Tim the best of luck.

 

 

New Business

 

The annual charity football game will be May 27, 2004 with a 7:30 pm kickoff. The Northern Kentucky Fallen Firefighters Foundation will be the charity.

 

A motion to front up to $1500.00 for concessions for the football game on May 27, 2004 by Tim Lawson, 2nd by Rob Braun, motion carried.

 

A motion was made to spend up to $300.00 for jersey style pants of the local members to play in the football game on May 27, 2004 by Craig Smith, 2nd by Mark Albrink, Motion carried
